La Grassa menu returns to La Tavola Trattoria

La Tavola Trattoria announces its sixth annual La Grassa menu beginning March 6 and running through March 16, 2013. Chef Brent Banda has created a special menu inspired by Bologna, Italy. Precisely translated, la grassa means “the fat one” and has long been the nickname of this region, rich in culinary history and flavorful recipes.

This year, the menu includes:

Appetizer

Grilled Duck Mortadella polenta rustica, frisee, Lambrusco gastrique (11)

Rye Bruschetta roasted beets, preserved lemon, ricotta, lardo (9)

Braised Pork Cheek blood orange, pea tendrils, prosciutto converva (11)

Garden Lettuces hazlenuts, parmigiano, balsamic vinaigrette (8)

Pickled Calf’s Tongue arugula, Asiago, apples, horseradish, rosemary (12)

Proscuitto-Wrapped Pork Loin braised escarole, chestnut cream, Saba di Modena (23)

Balsamic-Glazed Monkfish smoked potatoes, savory cabbage (24)

Braised Duck Legs porcini mushrooms, spring Vidalia onions, polenta gnocchi (18)

Tagliatelle grilled radicchio di Treviso, fried duck egg, Balsamic Aceto (17)
