Courtois scored in his second straight goal in a CONCACAF Champions League game. Last Wednesday, the LA Galaxy played Salvadoran team Isidro Metapan and won with a lone goal made by the French player Courtois.
The Galaxy had also played without their three biggest players—Landon Donovan, Irish forward Robbie Keane, and defender Omar Gonzalez. Also not included for this game against the Costa Rican team was Brazilian midfielder Juninho, who is a vital piece for the Angeleno team.
The Galaxy still has one game left in group play. On October 24, the Galaxy plays the last game against Isidro Metapan in El Salvador. For sure, the Galaxy will play that game with their bench and not risking any injuries that could prove costly later in the season.
The LA Galaxy is now in a pool waiting for the other six teams to qualify from the other groups of this North American soccer tournament. Tijuana from Mexico has also qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals.
Last year, the Galaxy exited the tournament in the semifinals when they lost to Mexican team Monterrey, who went on to win the whole tournament for a third title consecutively.
