On Feb. 6, Los Angeles Galaxy announced that head coach and general manager Bruce Arena had extended his contract with the two-time MLS Cup winners. It is a multi-year contract extension. This music to ears of fans and players alike, because Arena has been with the club for over five years, and he plays a pivotal role in the club's success.
LA Galaxy has always been a winning club, and he helps continue that tradition. He led the club to victory with the help of David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Ireland National Team striker Robbie Keane; it won the MLS Cup in 2011 and 2012. Galaxy does have top players, but it also has a top notch coach and manager. It is hopeful for 2014 as Arena has made many changes in the roster in the offseason. Fans cannot wait to see the results these changes will bring to the pitch.
Galaxy President Chris Klein is very happy with the contract extension and stated that he thinks Arena is "an integral role in the growth and success of the LA Galaxy. His hard work and commitment to our club has helped the Galaxy become the premier team in MLS. Under Bruce, the club has won championships, developed talent and grown as a brand.” These are some strong words from Klein, and no one would argue that this was untrue. Arena has kept LA Galaxy a successful club.
