LA Disneyland Examiner's Restaurant of the Week: Best Family-Style Dining

With Disneyland being among the top family destinations in America, it only reasonable that visitors will need eateries that can accommodate their large brood. Anaheim and Orange County don’t disappoint with food ranging from Italian classics to mouth-watering Chinese food.

Oodles of Noodles

The Old Spaghetti Factory in Fullerton (drive north on Harbor Boulevard and it will be on your left) is a historical masterpiece as well as a great family-friendly restaurant. They’re situated in a renovated train station with a labyrinth of rooms to accommodate groups from two to twenty. They do accept call-ahead seating and to-go orders, as well, to make the trip quick and easy. After all, no one wants to miss out on Mouse time. Their signature spaghetti with meat sauce is a local favorite with its rich, comforting flavors. The clam sauce is equally pleasing with a velvety texture that leaves mouths begging for more. The best part? Desserts included! Yes, each meal (ranging from about $10-$15) includes a bread and butter appetizer, salad, entree, drink (some beverages are extra, but milk, water, and coffee are included) and dessert - vanilla or spumoni ice cream!

A Panda’s Best Friend

The Panda Inn is a bit of a further drive, but they happily accept large groups and the ambiance is a nice getaway from the hectic nature of the park. Its the parent restaurant of Panda Express - the chain known all over the states for great, fast Chinese flavors! Its also the home of Orange Chicken - always a favorite! Located in La Palma about fifteen minutes from Disneyland, its worth the drive! Weekends feature a champagne brunch buffet that mixes sweet and savory, but the real treats are the classics. Lemon chicken, chicken chow mein, fried rice, crab wontons and egg drop soup are enough to feed the whole family! Entrees are served family-style so a few menu choices are more than enough to go around. For connoisseurs looking for the crab wontons - grab two orders! One is never enough...
