LA comic shops join in Black Friday 2011

Local comic book shops are getting into the holiday spirit this week their Black Friday sales. For those of you hoping to get a head start stocking up on collectibles for the holiday season, here’s a quick rundown of some of the big ones you can check out in the Los Angeles area.

At Things from Another World, they’ve already gotten started with their online Black Days of November Sale, featuring discounts on thousands of select graphic novels, toys, statues, and more; discounts are currently at 70% off and will flip to 80% off starting on Friday and continuing through the rest of November. In addition, their Universal City location a bunch of great discounts on Black Friday--50% off all back issues and a huge selection of graphic novels, PLUS doorbusters and some great deals on Action Figures.

Over at Meltdown Comics & Collectibles’ Sunset Blvd location in Los Angeles, you can check out The Shopping Dead sale this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, sponsored by Skybound Entertainment. More details to come so keep your eye on the official site.

Golden Apple Comics on Melrose in Los Angeles is keeping it simple with Annual 2011 Holiday savings: 30% off everything (excluding items for events & signings) along with Managers specials ranging from 50-70%, starting on Black Friday and continuing all the way through till December 31. Also, consignment items only 10% off.

And finally at Galaxy of Comics in Van Nuys, you can find a variety of deals at their Black Friday Sale, spanning Friday November 25 to Sunday November 27. Everything is 10-90% off, including 50% off all toys, back issues and t-shirts and 60% off all statues. Doors open at 5am on Friday.
