LA Clippers rumors about DeAndre Jordan has popped up again. This time Jordan is being talked about by coach Doc Rivers, who is trying to explain trade rumors that took place over the summer. According to a report from ESPN on Saturday (Oct. 5), Rivers said he never wanted a trade that could have cost the team Jordan in return.
During the NBA offseason, there were numerous stories about the Boston Celtics wanting to send Kevin Garnett as part of a deal that would have sent Rivers along with him. The two teams didn't end up coming to terms on a deal, but Garnett got sent with Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a much different deal.
In the article, Rivers also took the time to talk up Jordan, speaking about how good he could become. The coach stated, "[Jordan] is just too young and too gifted to let walk out your door, bottom line. He's a game changer defensively. He can single-handedly change a game with his defense. There's five guys, and that number maybe too high, that can do that single-handedly with their size and athleticism and he's one of them."
That's high praise for DeAndre Jordan and it should quell any more LA Clippers rumors from popping up. What it could also do is increase his value in the world of fantasy basketball, especially if he is about to get more minutes under a new coach. That could lead to averages of more than 10 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks per game.
