TGA Premier Youth Tennis (TGA) has expanded once again with a new tennis franchise being awarded in Southern California to Ross Kvinge, a golf equipment executive.

Kvinge’s franchise, located in the Coachella Valley, is the seventh tennis franchise in the state of California and the 26th franchise developed nationwide in just over two years.

Kvinge is a 35-year veteran in the golf business and is currently the President and CEO of PowerBilt Golf, a leader in golf equipment manufacturing. In addition, the nearly 100-year old company is also a leader in manufacturing clubs for juniors.

“With golf and tennis being the two sports played the most by adults and least by youth and our current success with junior golf, it was only natural to expand into tennis, especially with its popularity here in the Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Indian Wells area,” Kvinge said.

Prior to starting his own business, Kvinge worked for Spalding Sports as brand manager for Spalding Club division and director of marketing for the Top-Flight club division. He was soon recruited by Jack Nicklaus to run the sales for Nicklaus Golf Equipment as their VP of Sales. He started in the golf business in Seattle, Washington and transferred to Palm Springs where he spent 15-years with Palm Springs Golf equipment before moving to Powerbilt.

“PowerBilt has a long history in sports and is currently reaching out and
cross marketing with other sports and extreme sports athletes,” continued Kvinge. “We are strong
advocates of outdoor sports and empowering our Youth. I could not think of
a better initiative then to partner with TGA.”

TGA’s innovative school-based activation model and tennis enrichment curriculum was developed in partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA). The program introduces the sport in schools and supports the USTA’s “10-and-Under Tennis” initiative before transitioning them to USTA programs, tennis facilities and USPTA Professionals nationwide.

TGA Premier Youth Tennis of Coachella Valley is expected to engage thousands of participants by introducing the sport of tennis to children at elementary and middle schools, child care centers and community based organizations through a multi-level instruction curriculum that enriches young people’s lives through physical fitness, health and nutrition, education and character building.

“Having someone with Ross’ experience in sports and being in the business of developing youth sports equipment, he fully understands the importance of growing participation,” said Steve Tanner, chief operating officer of TGA. Ross’ background and resources will allow him to successfully implement our self-sustaining tennis business model to impact the local community in many ways.”

TGA Premier Youth Tennis (TGA) is a school-based youth development program executed through franchises. Its franchisees are self-starters who have a passion for helping children become involved in youth sports, and are seeking an avenue into the tennis industry. TGA introduces youth to tennis at elementary and middle schools, child care centers, and community organizations through a multi-level enrichment program before transitioning them to tennis facilities and USTA programs nationwide. TGA is a national partner with the United States Tennis Association, Wilson Tennis, The President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness and the National Council of Youth Sports. TGA is also a national supporter of the Afterschool Alliance and Lights on Afterschool.
