Actual FRUITSTOCK location from FOOD FORWARD
FOOD FORWARD is an all volunteer group of Angelenos who harvest unwanted produce and donate it to LA area food banks in the hopes of making a green, healthy, grassroots contribution to the issue of urban hunger.
The group's volunteers meet regularly at beautiful private properties where they are invited to harvest the excess produce and donate 100% of it to LA-based food pantries.
On Saturday August 29, 2009 they will be meeting for "FRUITSTOCK" where they will harvest 150 ripe orange trees in the Santa Barbara area. FRUITSTOCK will benefit MEND POVERTY.
The August 29th property is a lush private estate in the foothills of Montecito (about 75 minutes north of Los Angeles). FRUITSTOCK will last from 9am - 3pm, with Food Forward supplying a light lunch. All participants are invited to take part in a potluck BBQ following the pick from about 4-6pm.
SPACE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED, so please RSVP to info@foodforward.org as soon as you can to ensure a spot – reply with your name, with the number of people in your group, and if you are interested in carpooling. Food Forward will reply with all the details once you RSVP.
