On March 17, 2014, the Daily Mail captured live, video footage from the chaotic scene outside of the posh, Manhattan, NYC apartment complex where fashion designer L’Wren Scott reportedly committed suicide. The scene shows police officers standing guard by the doors while onlookers gathered on the streets outside. Scott, 49, is a former model turned fashion designer who had allegedly become despondent over recent financial troubles.

According to reports, Scott was found at approximately 10 am, hanging by a scarf from a doorknob inside her apartment complex. The video shows media crews gathered outside with cameras ready for filming. An investigation is underway, but earliest reports state there is nothing to indicate foul play was involved. The medical examiner’s van could be seen parked out front and a trail of camera’s followed behind as it made its way down the street. Investigators removed Scott’s computer from her apartment and will search it for clues regarding the source of Scott’s mental state and frame of mind before the apparent suicide.

L’Wren Scott was born Luann Bambrough and was adopted by a Mormon, family. Raised in Utah, she left the state and embarked upon a modeling career at 17-years-old. Click the video above to see footage from the scene.
