L'Oreal For Girls in Science video contest

L'Oreal USA and For Girls in Science recently announced a video contest that urges girls to share why they think S.T.E.M is cool. For Girls in Science is a program created by L'Oreal to advocate and support women in science and to encourage girls to pursue careers in S.T.E.M fields. The acronym stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics; these are all areas where men tend to out number women in the workplace.

The contest runs until March 4th and the winner will be selected by the public on the For Girls in Science website. The criteria is as follows:

  • Open to girls from 13-18 years of age
  • Must be 30-60 seconds in length
  • Must be suitable for general public viewing
  • Topic should be why you think either science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is cool

After the contest closes, people can vote for their favorite video from March 18th till March 24th. The winner will be announced on April 3rd and will receive a very attractive prize in the form of: a $2,500 monetary award, a 16GB tablet and $500 in L'Oreal beauty products. Four additional finalists will be announced, and they will receive a 16GB mini tablet and $250 in L'Oreal products.
