Taking place simultaneously in 9 major cities across the United States, The 20th Anniversary Concert of L'Arc~en~Ciel will give U.S. fans a chance to check out the band's legendary stage show without buying plane tickets to Japan.

One of Japans most popular bands for the last 20 years, L'Arc~en~Ciel (French for "rainbow") has done it all -- #1 hits, lots of anime theme songs, member shake-ups, break-ups and "comeback" tours, groundbreaking videos, performing for a short stint as a L'Arc~en~Ciel cover band, and recording as their harder-edged alter ego P'unk-en-Ciel, all while selling over 13 million albums and 16 million singles.

Constantly evolving, L'Arc~en~Ciel have managed to hang on to their fans in the notoriously fickle Japanese market by always pushing boundaries with their distinctive brand of hook-laden theatrical j-rock that often manages to be as thoughtful as it is catchy and fun. While they've never made a chart impact in the North America (lyrics primarily in Japanese don't help), their fanbase is worldwide and notoriously loyal.

The group recently announced the " L'Arc~en~Ciel WORLD TOUR 2012” to celebrate their 20th anniversary and will play New York City’s Madison Square Garden on March 23rd, 2012. L'Arc-en-Ciel released its newest single, “X X X” (Kiss Kiss Kiss), on October 12th and it shot to #1 on the Japanese Oricon music charts, the country’s equivalent to Billboard and tracks music sales.

For those of us in the U.S. who haven't won't have a chance to check out the band's high energy live show in NYC, Live Viewing Japan, a distribution company focused on bringing Japanese entertainment media to an international audience, in partnership with Maverick DC Group, is bringing a one-night-only L'Arc~en~Ciel event to our shores November 29th. Taking place simultaneously in nine major U.S. cities at 7:00pm (local time), Live Viewing Japan Executive Director Hiroki Kotani promises a spectacular celebration of the band's 20 year history.

“This is a very special opportunity to witness the energy of their live concert performance on the big screen and hear the on-stage power of this band with digital theatrical sound. We look forward to helping celebrate L'Arc~en~Ciel’s 20th anniversary and their new world tour and delighting fans with this special event!”

The film traces L'Arc~en~Ciel's colorful history and captures the band in action at a 2011 concert performed for more than 100,000 people at Tokyo Ajinomoto Stadium.

Cities that will host the Best of L'Arc~en~Ciel event include: Baltimore, MD; Boston (Manchester), MA; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Orange, CA; New York, NY – Two locations; San Francisco/Bay Area, CA; and Seattle, WA.
