L’Anse Creuse African American Parent Network are parents committed to encouraging and supporting increased parental involvement in activities that enhance and support high academic achievement of students. The parents are organizing to examine data and devise strategies that support increased family attention and action.
The network was organized to be a resource for families who have African American students in L’Anse Creuse Public Schools. It is open to volunteers.
The Parent Network strives to incorporate at least one liaison in each school. The liaison will work with the school administration, the PTA, and parents to conduct:
Academic activities, provide family resource information, and support families in accessing opportunities to work with the school in volunteering, decision-making opportunities, parent forums and extracurricular activities for students
The group’s first meeting at L’Anse Creuse North High School on Monday, October 29, 2012 7:oo pm – 8:30 pm in the Large Group Instruction Room (LGI) focus was on breaking ground and rolling out a plan for student success.
There were several parents in attendances, the district’s superintendent, assistance superintendent, and L’Anse Creuse North’s new assistance principal.
