If you haven’t seen any of the Professional Bowlers Assn. League matches, Sunday’s televised competition might be a good time to start watching.
The talent-laden Los Angeles X will take on the defending-champion New York City WTT KingPins in a semifinal match at 2 p.m. on ESPN.
The winner will take on the survivor of the other semifinal, which will pit the Silver Lake (Calif.) Atom Splitters against the Philadelphia Hitmen.
Behind franchise player Jason Belmonte and Parker Bohn III, the X swept past the BROOKLYN STyLES, 4-2, in its opening match – which was shown Feb. 9 on ESPN.
The KingPins won their opening match, 4-2, against the Motown Muscle. The match was shown Feb. 16 on ESPN.
The KingPins feature PBA Hall of Famer Pete Weber (shown in photo) and also boast top bowlers Scott Norton, John Szczerbinski, Jake Peters and Stuart Williams.
Rounding out the X team are Mika Koivuniemi, Andres Gomez and E.J. Tackett.
The two semifinal winners advance to the PBA League Elias Cup finals, which will be shown April 13 on ESPN from Brunswick Zone Carolier in North Brunswick, N.J.
