L A Kings host parade through three south bay beach cities

On a sunny Wednesday in June (18, 2014) beginning at 3 p.m., fifteen Toyota Tundras provided by Toyota started at the Redondo Beach Police Station following a parade route that mostly followed the beach. The parade went through Hermosa Beach, ending in Manhattan Beach at the intersection of Manhattan Ave. and Manhattan Beach Blvd.

The first-of-its-kind event in honor of the L. A. Kings' 2014 Stanley Cup Championship was expected to last 90 minutes. By 4:35 p.m. the bus whisking all the players away from the end of the parade route was barely visible as it drove up Manhattan Beach Blvd.

Quite a crowd was gathered at the end of the parade, where a few of the Kings spoke from the balcony of The Strand House restaurant. However, ample stretches along the parade route of residential homes gave portions of the parade more of a small town flavor. Along the parade route you could find fans of all ages sightseeing Kings in trucks from their balconies and sitting along the sidewalk in their lawn chairs.

This parade was a nice nod to the South Bay area of Los Angeles most Kings call home. Very classy!

Thanks, Kings. And, to borrow from Ron Burgandy, "Stay classy, L.A. Kings!"
