The Los Angeles Galaxy have found a new identity, one that consist of the new era without David Beckham. Landon Donovan after a long vacation from the sport, is set to return sometime later this month, but that didn't stop the Galaxy from celebrating their second straight MLS Cup.

The Galaxy received their championship rings at Home Depot Center along with the raising of the championship banner in front an lustrous crowd of over 20,000.

After a slow start in the beginning of the first half, the Galaxy began to find their rhythm, as Mike Magee scored his first MLS hat trick, three goals in a game, along with Robbie Keane who added a goal to defeat the Chicago Fire 4-0.

The Galaxy installed their new attack style after the departure of now French Paris player David Beckham. The Galaxy's new captain were instrumental in two out of three of Magee's goals.
Magee scored an amazing deflected cross goal in the 38th minute which gave the Galaxy the 1-0 lead.

The Fire had an opportunity to score back in the 32nd minute after Chris Rolfe shot wide right and blew the opportunity.

In the second half Magee continued on his path as he scored off the Keane assist in the 69th minute to extend the Galaxy's lead 2-0 over the Fire. The Galaxy gained tremendous confidence in their defense behind Juninho and Marcelo Sarvas who teamed in mid field.

Later Magee caught the rebounds and swiftly connected the ball in the net for the his thrid goal of the afternoon. Keane decided to get into the scoring act in the 80th minute with a goal of his own to seal the victory for the champions.
The Fire had no answer for the Galaxy despite some tough defensive tactics in the first half by goalkeeper Sean Johnson.
Chicago also had another opportunity to score near the 60th minute when Maicon Santon free kick was deflected off of the cross bar by Galaxy goalie Carlo Cudicini.

Galaxy captain Robbie Keane spoke about the magic play of Mike Magee. "The three goals that he scored were exceptional goals ... It was one of those things. Sometimes you just hit everything and it hits the back of the net. Mikey had one of those days today. And he scored them all with his left foot, amazing"

Magee was just estactic to get the win, "The hat trick was cool, the win was cool, and the best part of the day was getting the rings."
