L.A. Epicurean Festival whets the appetite August 26 (Photos)

The Los Angeles Epicurean Festival returns with a day filled with wine tastings, gourmet food samples, cooking competitions, live music and much more on Sunday August 26th at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Founded by Kora Kroep and Bruno Laclotte, the festival works to share the growing food and beverage trends with Angelenos by showcasing top chefs, world renowned sommeliers and mixologists and gourmet products.

Due to the success of the 2011 event, this year’s festival will be held during two sessions in order to accommodate all attendees. The first session is from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and features The Epicurean Cup, a cooking competition; a book signing by Michel Richard &Bradley Ogden and live entertainment by Nathalie Alice. The second session from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. includes food and beverage tastings, Sugar Sculpture by Master Pastry Chef Stephane Treand, Mixology Demonstrations, a book signing and Entertainment by DJ Andy Favre.

The Festival features over 60 exhibitors of food, wine and spirits products as well as other culinary gifts, books and products. Exhibitor include: Bistro Blends of Napa Valley – sellers of infused olive oils, balsamic vinegars, marinades and more; Velvet Rope Bake shop – producers of bite sized cake truffles; High Roller Spirits – producers of California-made sweet potato Vodka; Beaucanon Estate Wines – a Napa Valley Vineyards with 260 years of winemaking history in Bordeaux and NASA – the North America Sommelier Association.

Additionally, The L.A. Epicurean Festival gives back to the community by donating one third of the price of every sold ticket to four local charities – The Concern Foundation, Children’s Hospital L.A., Beyond Shelter and La Dolce Vita Rescue.
