Kyle Busch Motorsports drivers Darrell Wallace Jr. and Erik Jones hit the dirt this Wednesday, July 23rd as part of the second annual 1-800 CarCash MudSummer Classic Camping World Truck Series race at famed Eldora Speedway. Wallace Jr. finished seventh in last year’s inaugural event, while Jones will make his first-ever start on dirt. Wallace Jr., in the No. 54 ToyotaCare Toyota Tundra, is excited to be returning to Eldora.

"I’m really looking forward to returning to Eldora (Speedway) this week,” said Wallace Jr. on the KBM website. “Last year, Eldora and Canada were two of my favorite races because they were so different than what we normally do. We tested a few weeks ago in Virginia and we ran a lot of laps trying things out and just trying to get comfortable being on dirt. We were happy with the test and I’m excited, my team is pumped and I know we have a Toyota Tundra that will be able to compete for another top-10 finish.”

Jones, in the No. 51 ToyotaCare Tundra, finished seventh in his Nationwide Series debut for Joe Gibbs Racing at Chicagoland Speedway last weekend. On Wednesday, he’ll attempt to make another impressive debut.

“I think it's cool just in the sense that we get to go to a dirt track and especially a place like Eldora that hosts a lot of really prestigious dirt track races throughout the year,” said Jones. “For us to get a shot to race there and really put our mark down at Eldora is pretty special. I think it would be pretty cool to pick up a win there and definitely think we've got a good shot at it. I think it's something that NASCAR and the Truck Series should continue to do. I think it's a great show for the fans and brings a lot of people out to watch the trucks that maybe necessarily wouldn't watch them every weekend. I think it's a great thing all the way around for drivers, teams and fans, and it really puts on a good show.”

Truck Series qualifying for the MudSummer Classic takes place Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. ET. Truck Series heat races (five races, 10 laps each) going green at approximately 7 p.m. ET, followed by the 15-lap “Last Chance” Race at approximately 8:15 p.m. ET. The 1-800 CarCash Mudsummer Classic, in three segments of 60, 50 and 40 laps, is scheduled to go green at 9:05 p.m. ET. Keep up with the action at www.kylebuschmotorsports.com.
