Kwame Kilpatrick guilty 24 of 30 charges

Detroit,MI- Ex-Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick found guilty on 24 of the 30 charges. The former mayor served jail time in the pass for perjury when he and his then mistress,Christine Beatty lied under oath in a whistle blowers case, which cost the City of Detroit millions. Reactions from the public about the verdict, many say didn't come as a surprise.

Many of Kilpatrick's followers say they felt the former mayor wouldn't get the justice he deserved by having his case heard in Detroit. Kilpatrick was found guilty on the charges that ranged from bribery to tampering with city contracts. Kilpatrick had many of his family member in the court to show support. Even his grand-parents were in attendance.

Along with Kilpatrick was his longtime associate Bobby Ferguson and his father, Bernard Kilpatrick. Each of the men faced a variety of charges and each was sentenced accordingly. Kilpatrick got the majority of the guilty charges. Ferguson was charged with 9 counts and the senior Kilpatrick received one charge of being guilty.

From all the charges combined, Kwame Kilpatrick received 24, Ferguson, 9 and Senior Kilpatrick, 1. Each man will face three to twenty years behind bars.
