Kurt Busch to honor soldier killed in action at Kobalt 400

SP+ Gameday is joining Kurt Busch, in his salute to recognize fallen U.S. Army Sgt. Clinton K.
Ruiz by donating two VIP ticket packages to the Ruiz family so they can be at the Las Vegas Speedway when Busch competes with the Sergeant’s name proudly displayed on his #41 Chevy SS during the Kobalt 400 scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 9th.

"It's an honor and privilege to recognize those that have served in the U.S. Armed Forces -- especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice,” stated Busch. “My sincere appreciation goes to Sgt. Ruiz family, who stood by him through his entire journey. I would also like
to thank SP+ for their support, and providing Sgt. Ruiz' family the opportunity to attend the event."

A highly decorated soldier, Ruiz was born Mar. 14, 1990, in Poway, CA. on May14, 1990. He joined the Army in May 2009. After training, Ruiz graduated from the Psychological Operations Advanced Individual Training and Korean Language School at Ft. Bragg the following year,before serving with the 9th Military Information Support Battalion (Airborne) in Afghanistan, where he was killed by small arms fire on Oct. 25, 2012 in Oruzgan Province.

A highly decorated soldier, Ruiz was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghan Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Parachutist Badge.

He is survived by his wife Kiran, son Caleb, mother Carla Trease, father John and brother Parker
