The Kurt Angle rehab stint certainly created a problem for TNA Impact Wrestling but few expected the reaction it received on the live “TNA Impact Wrestling” show on Aug. 15. During the show, TNA President Dixie Carter came to the ring and announced to the crowd that Angle was in rehab.
It was a 100-percent shoot comment, but was also used as a way to move the storyline and keep the TNA plans in order for the big Main Event Mafia vs. Aces & Eights match.
Carter stood in the middle of the ring with Sting, Samoa Joe, Magnus and Rampage Jackson and told the crowd, and the audience at home, that Kurt Angle was in rehab and would not be available to wrestle in the anticipated match. Many people already knew about this, but for some who do not pay attention to online spoilers, this might have come as a shock.
Of course, Angle is in rehab after getting arrested for his fourth alcohol related automobile incident in the past few years.
Carter said that she sent her support to Angle and wanted the fans to do so as well. She then moved into the storyline mode and said that the team would have one week to find a replacement for Angle.
