Kundalini meditation/yoga-2 the other side of the river of life

See also

We mostly talk of awakening and realization as if it is part of our waking or conscious state. This is the ignorance one needs to drop and dissolve before one actually enters into Tantra tradition of Kundalini yoga/meditation. An example of a river can explain it better. One is living on one side of the river and has never crossed the river and land on the other side of it. One can create fancies and ideas about what the other side of the river looks like but never experienced it. This river of life that one knows is all about waking, dream and sleep states of consciousness. Whereas, Kundalini talks about the awakened or the fourth state of consciousness from where realization and transformation descends down into body, life and the mind.

Kundalini and modern science

It is difficult to explain what Kundalini is, according to science. Secondly, in the awakened state, the mind drops and dissolves totally, hence, impossible to define what is awakening. Still many masters had tried to point to that absolute truth. Any attempt to explain the philosophy and practices of Kundalini with scientific concepts and applications of energy, would simply create more confusions on one hand and develop a pseudo-science. It is right for a teacher to explain the philosophy, practices and applications with reference to a new paradigm where science may like to progress in future.

Tantra yoga explains the other side of the river of life

The river of life has two ends – birth and death but what about before and after death. Another important question comes to mind, from where life originated that reveals the truth or awakened state. One side of the river of life is what the mind knows the world outside and inside – physics, chemistry, biology, physical evolution and other side of the river of life is spiritual evolution, awakened state, merging of all three states namely waking, dream and sleeping.

When master talked and wrote thousands of years ago about Kundalini, Nadi, Prana, Vayu, Bandha, Mudra, Chakra etc. They had not known through scientific instruments and technology. They found all of them by consciously moving the mind within, gathering the impressions of experiences they received and gave names to facilitate understanding of Kundalini. It is an ineffectual attempt to correlate them with photon, quantum, plexus, and the electrical impulses of the brain and so on. But is also important to objectively verify as far as science can do to understand the terms used. Kundalini is used for consciousness force, charkas for different levels of consciousness, Nadi for energy pathways (invisible like electric current), Bandha for locking the pathways of energy, Mudra for channeling the energy, and Yantra to influence the mind and transcend it, and Prana for life force. The journey of Kundalini begins from consciousness force and reaches to the absolute whole while science is a journey from matter consciousness.
