KTUL's Charles Ely slams Facebook search announcement

“It wasn't worth the wait” responded ch 8.1 KTUL 4 p.m. anchor Charles Ely on Jan. 15, 2013 to KTUL's story about Facebook's announcement earlier that day of Facebook's new “Graph” search feature. Graph allows the user to search for friends given different criteria. For example type in “friends who like hiking” will list your friends who have indicated they enjoy walking outdoors. How deep the search will go is unclear. Currently Facebook friends suggestions are terrible giving only a scatter-shot list assuming that since you are friends with someone then they would want to be friends will you. Also the pages that appear when using http://www.facebook.com/pages are affected by your friends interests.

This Graph Search feature is not as useful as Friendealer which allows your friends to sell your products from their Facebook page which for full disclosure Tulsa TV uses. Friendealer allows Facebook users to directly support charities of their choice and companies they like. It also allows a low cost one time fee based website for a company and with 25 likes a web address like http://facebook.com/TulsaTV which is indistinguishable from major companies and costs nothing.
