Get ready for a metal takeover, South Florida: March has been declared Metal Month. The first of these events, Kryptonite Metal Festival, will be held at Tobacco Road on March 8 at 2 p.m.

The “biggest, the brutal, the baddest underground metal festival in South Florida” will feature 40 bands across four stages. The festival will have prizes, vendors and a Guitar God competition sponsored by local custom guitar store Anonymous Guitars. Each person who enters the Guitar God competition will get a pick from South Florida pick company, Magnetapick. Participants will also be entered to win “a one of a kind Kryptonite Metal Festival guitar autographed by all the bands”.

The Kryptonite Metal Festival is open to all ages until 9 p.m. with kids under 12 getting in for free. After 9 p.m., however, the event will be restricted to 21+. Bring between $5-10 for parking. Parking is available in the lot behind Tobacco Road or on the street.
