The Baltimore Ravens are about to lose their All-Pro linebacker to retirement, but they don't want to lose a young rising star at the position.
Ravens outside linebacker Paul Kruger is a pending free agent. But Kruger wants to stay with the Ravens.
"There's nothing I want more than to remain a Raven, but I haven't really thought about it," Kruger said. "It's an awesome place to play. I would love to be here."
In the playoffs, he has 2.5 sacks in the playoffs, in the wins over the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. He can add to that total in the AFC Championship game this Sunday at the New England Patriots.
He will be a candidate for the franchise tag, along with quarterback Joe Flacco. If the team can reach a long-term deal with Flacco, then the team could use the tag on Kruger.
