Kristin Chenoweth wasn’t planning on getting yelled at by an angry flight attendant when she boarded her airplane on Tuesday. According to TMZ on Feb. 1, that is exactly what happened due to Chenoweth trying to board with her service dog.
Chenoweth always flies with her service dog, Madeline, and tried to explain to the supervisor flight attendant that she had done everything correctly for her dog to be able to board with her. Reportedly the flight attendant supervisor was instant that Chenoweth did not have the proper paperwork and made a huge scene.
According to TMZ, the flight attendant, reportedly in front of several passengers, scolded and screamed at Kristin and even had her in tears. Of course, eventually officials realized there had been a huge mistake and Kristen was actually allowed to board the flight with her dog.
Chenoweth, who was very upset over the whole experience, took to Twitter after her flight and tweeted:
“American Airlines: Dallas flight attnt supervisor: Ms Kidwell. Abuse not ok. #tripfromhell”
Chenoweth definitely got the attention of American Airlines with her tweet because a rep for them told TMZ, “We have been in touch with Ms. Chenoweth to offer our apologies for the misunderstanding. We refunded the [$125] cabin pet charge as soon as we realized the mistake. We hope she will consider flying American again in the future.”
I hope that is enough relief for Kristin Chenoweth for the embarassment she went through. For a lot of people refunding $125 after being yelled at would not even be close to good enough for the flight attendants actions. Wonder if the flight attendant realizes that is not good customer service to scream at people boarding the airplane before finding out all the details?
