Kristin Cavallari slams Us Weekly and MTV's "The Hills" producers in a recent interview saying the show manipulated truth and used crooked allegations of drug addiction and rehab to score killer ratings. Summoned by casting agents to play the bad girl, Cavallari finally airs her side of the story and uncovers secrets hiding behind "The Hills."
STORY UNCOVERED: THE TRUTH BEHIND "REHAB"
"I was on the cover of Us Weekly saying I need to go to rehab and that my parents wanted me to go to rehab," the 24-year-old said to XfinityTV.com. "Basically, all that was to get ratings."
KRISITIN CLAIMS "NO DRUG PROBLEM WHATSOEVER"
Cavallari says there was never a "problem whatsoever" with drug abuse and claims the sketchy ways of producers left her feeling "really pissed off," noting "one producer in particular who was behind all that."
CAVALLARI: PRODUCERS WERE "UNFAIR"
While stories of drug use and rehab were a result of committing to the role, the 5-foot-4 Kristin says she doesn't regret any of it. With hopes of it being her big break, Cavallari never dreamed taking on reality TV would turn her into looking like something she wasn't - A drug user.
LOCKED IN THE BATHROOM: TORMENTED OVER "LAGUNA BEACH"
"I think it was really unfair how they messed with our lives like that," she says of her time on 'Laguna Beach.' "...Watching the show really broke my heart. When the first episode aired, I locked myself in the bathroom and was crying for hours because I was so upset about how they were portraying me."
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: TELLING HER STORY
Thanks to her widely-publicized (and negative) "Hills" image, Cavallari says she steers clear of indulging in internet gossip and tabloids. The stories from her past, regardless of truth, still linger in the present and force Kristin to continually face allegations of partying too hard and being the "bad girl."
HOW MUCH OF "THE HILLS" WAS SCRIPTED?
While some of the tales spawned from "insiders" or "Hills" cast enemies, Cavallari is determined now to finally air the true reality. When asked about "Hills" producers scripting the show, Cavallari confesses "almost all of it" was fake.
WHAT SHE'S WORKING ON NOW...
Moving to the other side of TV, Kristin says she's working on producing reality shows instead of being in one. With the details of her new project hidden for now, Cavallari's currently focusing on promo interviews for her role on ABC's hit comedy "The Middle" and working on her romance with football stud, Jay Cutler.
PRODUCING REALITY TV OFFERS SHELTER FROM SPOTLIGHT
Of her less obvious role on TV now, Kristin says it's all fine and dandy.
"I really enjoyed having a say in what happened and being behind the camera," says Cavallari of producing her own reality bit. She adds, "It will be nice to be out of the spotlight a little bit too, to be honest."
