Kristin Cavallari denies she was ever a "bad girl" on drugs. She just played one on Reality TV. According to an article published by Zimbio on March 11, producers of the MTV hit show urged other cast members to dish on Cavallari's "drug problem" and dangled expensive gifts to get what they wanted.
"I had two lives," she told Us Weekly. "I had the public Kristin and then I had the real me."
It's not an earth-shattering revelation that so-called Reality TV shows pump up conflict to get bigger ratings. But Cavallari reveals she was duped at a young age. "I was 16 when they first came," she said. "We were babies and we didn't know what we were signing up for."
The article reveals one tactic producers allegedly used to get the other girls to discuss Cavallari's alleged drug problem. Apparently, dangling a $10,000 Birkin bag is an irresistible persuasion.
Cavallari, a new mom and a bride-to-be, wants to set the record straight and tells her fans she never used drugs.
That's the better story. But who would know that from watching the show?
It just goes to show that, even after three years of being off the air, "The Hills" is still a hot topic for debate. Even if it was probably fake.
