As a mother of two and founder of the Always Dream Foundation, which aims to support early childhood literacy, Kristi Yamaguchi knows the importance of quality children’s books.
In 2011 Kristi added children’s book author to her already long list of accomplishments. Dream Big, Little Pig and It’s a Big World, Little Pig are two books about the ice-skating adventures of Poppy the Pig.
Jennifer Cruz, the Celebrity Moms Examiner, recently had the opportunity to talk with Kristi Yamaguchi about her children’s books. She shared that her inspiration for writing the books first came from working with the children through her Always Dream Foundation, and then received even greater inspiration when she became a mother herself.
Kristi also shared a little news about the future of Poppy the Pig. She revealed that she’s currently in the process of writing another book for the series, which is due to come out some time next year.
As always, even in the children’s book series, Kristi Yamaguchi’s heart for others clearly shows through. A portion of the proceeds from each sale of the Poppy the Pig books goes towards supporting the Always Dream Foundation.
She also states that the best part of being a children’s book author is simply seeing the reaction of the kids when the books are read.
