Now that the reunion show of "The Real Housewives of New York City" has started airing, there is a lot of speculation over which of the women will be asked back for season seven, if there is indeed a season seven. In a long article for OK! Magazine, posted on Tuesday, July 29, new housewife Kristen Taekman, who joined Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Aviva Drescher, Heather Thomson, Carole Radziwill, and LuAnn de Lesseps for season six, revealed what may be her big change if she gets asked back.
The big thing that may change for Kristen if she returns for season seven is her husband's personality! Kristen's article defended her husband, Josh Taekman, who has been portrayed pretty negatively throughout much of the season. Contrary to the image that viewers have of Josh from the show, which is that of a workaholic who neglects his family and belittles his wife, Kristen said that he's actually a great husband and father whose humor simply doesn't translate well to TV.
Kristen pointed out that Josh gets up early with their two kids every day and that he'll come home to take care of the kids when she's busy with work. She admitted that while Josh isn't perfect, he isn't the douche bag that everyone thinks he is. She also pointed out that there are things that she could do to make their marriage better, such as not complaining so much.
So what does Kristen think is to blame for her husband's bad image? She explained that Josh simply has a very dry sense of humor. When it seems that he's picking on her, such as when he asked a personal trainer when her belly pooch would go away, he's actually just joking. Kristen revealed that after seeing how bad he came across on TV, Josh said that he'll change his personality if they do another season but she yelled at him not to because that's what she loves about him.
Kristen also suggested that her marital problems were played up for the show. She revealed that halfway through filming the season, producers told her that her relationship with Josh would probably be her major storyline.
Of course, there's a chance that Kristen Taekman may not be invited back for another season. In fact, there have been reports that the entire cast of "The Real Housewives of New York City," except for Ramona Singer, are in danger of being fired from the show because of low ratings.
