Anthropologists have written about certain primitive cultures who feared that being photographed would steal a part of their souls.
Kristen Stewart thinks that is exactly what the hordes of paparazzi that follow her every move would like to do.
"The fact is, the paparazzi and most interviewers, they want your soul," she said in an interview with UK magazine Dazed and Confused. "It's so scary because your persona ... and I guess I now have one, because people think of me in a certain way ... is all based entirely on quick snippets of crazed moments in your life. And that is what people then base their entire opinion of me on!"
Guilty as charged, KStew, but at least this reporter thinks you're totally cool, based on the anecdotal evidence.
In the interview, apparently conducted by a non-soul-sucking interviewer, Stewart elaborates, saying, "Anything you say can come and bite you in the ass. It's not even like you say things you don't mean, it's just that sometimes they come out wrong."
She also talks about her choice of film roles: "With Adventureland, and pretty much everything else I've done, I've been lucky because they're characters I really identified with. Sometimes, I'll read something and it has something about it that makes you need to live it, and if you don't, it's like an unconsummated relationship.".
The magazine also features eye-poppingly gorgeous photos of the maverick actress that are well worth checking out.

I've read celebrity souls cover to cover. It's a short book. In fact it's really just the two covers.
Stewart is not like other movie stars her age. I actually like to hear her talk. I admit that sometimes it is painful to watch her try to stammer out a sentence, but you can see that she does weigh her words and that she is thinking deep. I think she just gets shy in front of interviewers. She is beautiful and smart and that makes her worlds ahead of most of these vapid "high school musical" stars her age. She's fantastic. She is the only reason that I watched twilight at all and I thought that she was great in it. But I hope that this crap will die down and she can have her life back. Trust me, this girl is going to be acting for ages and will win an oscar someday.
