Just a week after Snow White and the Huntsman trailer release and days before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I, Kristen Stewart has seen a slight jump in interest numbers. Now that number will spike again as Stewart is now in talks to join the cast of Akira. I imagine there are many people on the fence about this one. For one thing Twlight fans are excited to see that Stewart is getting more roles, on the other hand Akira fans (and Twilight haters) are up in arms at the fact that she is getting looked at.
Although there is no official cast, Akira, the Jaume Collet-Serra directed adaptation for Warner Brothers, has offered roles to Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter , Garrett Hedlund, Ezra Miller, Keira Knightley, and Alden Ehrenreich. Hedlund is in talks to play as Kaneda while Miller and Ehrenreich are in negotiating for the role of Tetsuo. Oldman and Carter have been offered to play The Colonel and Lady Miyako.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Hedlund and Stewart have performed together. The two are featured in Walter Salles adaptation of Jack Kerouac's "On The Road."
As abovementioned, Stewart can next be seen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I, along side Robert Pattinson and Taylor Launter. And after thatthat before the highly anticipated dark take on Snow White and the Huntsman. She, along with Hedlund, will also appear in the adaptation of On the Road, which has yet to be released.
