Kristen Stewart and her crutches have been in the news for the past several hours. The "Breaking Dawn" actress walked the red carpet at Sunday night's Academy Awards using a pair of crutches for an unspecified injury. Well, KStew fans fear not -- the mystery has been solved. On Feb. 25, Us Weekly reported that Kristen chatted with Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway backstage and revealed her injury.
When Anne commented on the crutches Stewart replied, "I know I'm an idiot." Anne asked if Kristen would be taking the crutches on stage with her and she responded, "Nope. I'm gonna hobble." She then revealed that she cut her foot stepping on some broken glass. "I just hope [the wound] doesn't open up right now," she said. Ouch.
Kristen Stewart's crutches were one of the most talked about accessories on the red carpet. Her team did their best to work with what they had and to make Kristen as comfortable as possible. She wore a lovely ivory Reem Acra dress but no amount of gown could take away from her uncomfortable stride. She ditched the crutches for pictures -- and when she presented -- but she looked so awkward.
"She had sliced her foot and everyone was worrying about would she wear heels or flats or one heel, crutches or no crutches. She tried so many options, she was really a trooper," said manicurist Ashlie Johnson. "We all were trying to make her feel better and her friends were trying to tell her she'd be fine, she has insecurities about being in front of people so today was even tougher," said hairstylist Danilo, adding that Stewart was nervous about attending the show with her two new "friends."
Hopefully Kristen Stewart will be off the crutches soon.
