Kristen Johnson has been one very sick lady and she finally shared this with her fans via Facebook this week. Johnson, who many remember as the tall blonde with the raspy voice from “3rd Rock from the Sun,” is currently starring in “The Exes” on TV Land.
According to the Celebrity Cafe on Dec. 19, Johnson has the auto-immune disease Lupus and while this might scare most folks, it sounds as if she’s happy to finally get a diagnosis for all the health problems she’s been battling. It’s taken months for the doctor’s to tease out what was wrong with the star, she recently spent two weeks in the Mayo Clinic for treatment.
Johnson said she couldn’t walk up stairs and actually needed a neck brace to hold her head up. The only time she was fine was when she was lying down, but that doesn’t work well when your job on a TV show requires a lot of energy.
Lupus, as Johnson puts it, "caused my immune-system to go rogue and attack my muscles." Since she’s finally been diagnosed, the doctors have put her on the right medication and she’s feeling much better. She’s feeling good enough to be back at work and that’s where she is today, filming “The Exes.”
