Kris Jenner's talk show is on a summer trial, which means the future is uncertain. Her final day was Friday after her six-week trial run. With that in mind you can see how it didn't take long to incorporate baby North West into a publicity stunt to benefit Grandma Kris with the hopes Fox picks up her show for their 2014 line-up.
As the Hollywood Reporter suggests on Aug. 23, Kanye West joining Kris on her show with the first public picture of her granddaughter, North West, will almost certainly give her a big boost in ratings, but is it enough to secure her a spot in the 2014 TV show line-up?
Unless Kim Kardashian and Kanye have a child every season for Kris to debut, it's highly unlikely that she'll she the flood gates open like they did with the baby's pictured revealed on Friday. Her talk show debuted with good numbers for week one, then it went down for week two. The remaining weeks saw a moderate rebound, but she's not showing the progressive strength in viewer numbers that the show “Bethenny” did when that summer trial ended.
“Bethenny” numbers progressed in each week, securing Bethenny Frankle a spot in the line-up last year. “Kris” was up and down with the number of viewers week to week, not showing a steady growing audience with the numbers, but she didn't do badly.
Bill Carroll, vice president and director of programming for the Katz Media Group, believes Kris's chances are good for getting picked up for a national rollout, as long as Fox station groups needs this type of venue for its fall 2014 lineup.
Back to baby North, as it only took less than a few months to bring her into the picture for a purposeful reveal. What a breath of fresh air it would have been for Kanye and Kim to debut their daughter on Twitter, purely out of just wanting to share the joy of their new daughter with their fans. Instead her reveal was plugged into a spot that would work for ratings for one of the Kardashian clan, Kris Jenner.
