Celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito has been Kris Jenner's weight-loss coach for the past eight months, E! reported. "I send food to California for her every day and she follows my diet," said DiSpirito. "[It has been] since July, and she lives healthy."

DiSpirito also praised Jenner's daughter, Kim Kardashian, for her impressive 50-pound weight loss, which she achieved on a low-carb, high-fat ketogenic-style Atkins diet that limited her daily carb intake to less than 60 grams (see details of Kim's ketogenic diet below).

'Only Liposuction Delivers Faster Results'

DiSpirito, who has maintained his own 50-pound weight loss for the past few years, slimmed down from 230 pounds to 180 pounds by overhauling his diet, and now boasts an impressive 10% body fat. DiSpirito revealed his diet, workout and weight-loss secrets in his bestseller, The Pound a Day Diet, which he guarantees will help you lose a pound a day without plateaus.

In Phase One, dieters consume six low-carb, protein-rich meals totaling 850 calories on weekdays and 1,200 calories on the weekends. The following week, you consume more calories, but every week the diet changes, so your body never gets used to it, helping you avoid the inevitable weight-loss plateaus that frustrate so many people.

Some nutritionists have criticized Rocco's Mediterrean-style diet as a quick fix, but he said his plan works because it delivers fast results, which fuels motivation to stick with the diet. "The Pound a Day Diet is as high-velocity as a weight-loss program can get," said DiSpirito, who also wrote the bestselling Now Eat This! Diet. "Only liposuction provides faster results. I personally tested it on over three dozen people."

Kim Kardashian's 50-lb Weight Loss Due to Low-Carb Ketogenic Diet

Rocco is a self-professed former couch potato who recently completed several triathlons. These days he works out regularly by walking, spinning, and cycling. When asked his thoughts on Kim Kardashian's incredible weight loss, DiSpirito had nothing but praise for Kim's health-conscious lifestyle. "I have not worked with her, but I see her often," he said. "I have always seen her eat healthy and take care of herself."

Kardashian, 33, has lost 50 pounds since giving birth to daughter North (in June 2013) by following the low-carb ketogenic Atkins diet. Kim's ketogenic diet consisted of 1,800 to 2,200 calories and limited her daily carb intake to less than 60 grams.

Kardashian's daily menu combined proteins like fish, chicken and meat; healthy fats like olive oil, avocados and nuts; lots of fresh vegetables, and some low-glycemic fruits like berries. Kim also exercises almost every day, combining rigorous cardio workouts with strength-training and lots of squats.

In addition to accelerating weight loss, the low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet has been touted for fighting depression and bipolar disorder. "Low-carb diets [like Atkins and ketogenic] keep blood sugar levels stable and prevent food cravings, which helps with mental clarity and boosts mood.," Linda O'Byrne, Atkins chief nutritionist, told me.

Dietitian Dr. Jeff Volek, a professor at the University of Connecticut, agrees. "It was nothing short of an epiphany when I changed to a ketogenic diet 20 years ago," Dr. Volek, author of the Art and Science of Low-Carbohydrate Living, told me. "I felt better, more satiated, and had more consistent energy."
