Kris Jenner has spent over $1 million on plastic surgery over the years and is obsessed with staving off the ravages of age, says her younger sister Karen Houghton. Houghton says Jenner, who has struggled with weight issues all her life, turns to plastic surgery to cope with anxiety and stress.
“She was kind of chubby when she was little,” Houghton told InTouch Oct. 9. "Kris is vain. The whole world knows it."
Jenner has spoken openly about her plastic surgeries, and even underwent a facelift in 2011 that was featured on her reality TV show, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
Jenner, 57, has admitted getting two breast augmentations, Botox and liposuction. “Everyone needs a fresh set [of breast implants] every 20 years,” she said. She has also reportedly had a nose job.
While celebrities getting plastic surgery is nothing new (even gorgeous Marilyn Monroe got two), Jenner's sister said Kris turns to surgery and workaholism to cope with the pressures of her fast-paced life and work.
"If something is upsetting you, you are either going to hit the bottle, do drugs, go to the gym constantly, or you are going to work,” said Houghton. “It’s an addiction and it’s because you are unhappy. You do these things because there’s a hole that’s not filled.”
Jenner, the mom of six children (most notably Kim Kardashian), recently separated from her husband, former Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, after 22 years of marriage. The couple has two children: daughters Kyle and Kendall Jenner.
Kris' daughter, Khloe Kardashian, is currently separated from husband Lamar Odom. Odom, a pro basketball player who previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers, is reportedly struggling with a harrowing drug addiction.
