Kris Jenner diffuses divorce rumors, defends Kardashian series authenticity

Reality TV star extraordinaire Kris Jenner (“Keeping Up with the Kardashians”) guest co-hosted on “The View” yesterday, Feb. 6, and today, Feb. 7.

One of the first topics of conversation at the Hot Topics table yesterday was the many and varied rumors currently circulating that Kris Jenner and her husband Bruce Jenner are getting a divorce. Jenner adamantly denied she and her hubby of over twenty years are splitting. She said, “Not in a million, bazillion years.”

Jenner also verified her expectant daughter, Kim Kardashian, has been stressed recently over her ongoing divorce proceedings with Kris Humphries and the doctor advised her she needs to take it easy or it could affect her pregnancy.

Kim is currently in a serious relationship with her baby's father, Kanye West.

Humphries, it seems, is asking Kardashian for an annulment (which would indicate fraud in the marriage) while she is seeking a divorce. Due to the short 72 day duration of the marriage, many people have speculated Kim married Kris for show ratings. Jenner maintained her daughter’s motives for marrying Kris were pure at the time – she was in love.

On today's show, “The View” ladies discussed recent claims that reality TV shows are scripted. They asked Kris Jenner whether this was the case for her show. Jenner said their show is not scripted, but it is edited in an attempt to “make sense” out of any given day for the viewers.

Part of the guilty pleasure enchantment of this wildly successful show’s peek into the Kardashian glam-fam lives is as much the conflict and drama as their shared sense of love and support.

Co-host Sherri Shepherd asked if the feuds between the sisters and Bruce getting upset is all real. Jenner said, “It’s absolutely real, where they will stop filming and Bruce got up and walked off set, like ‘You’re all out of your minds!’ We’re like, ‘Honey come back! I swear, we love you!’” She discussed moments like these and her family’s commitment to keeping it real from the very first day of the first season.

“That kind of stuff, it’s sometimes cringe-worthy," said Jenner. "But I think if it’s really gonna be authentic—and that’s what we signed up for; we all made a pact at the beginning of our show, season one day one, let it flow. It’s just gonna be what it is and we’re not gonna try to manipulate what’s on the air because then it’s not really gonna be authentic and it’s served us well.”

“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has aired seven seasons which garnered huge ratings for “E!” and spawned four spin-offs: “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” “Khloe and Lamar,” “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami,” and “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.”

Kris Jenner manages all of her children’s multi-faceted careers and now she will soon be helming her own talk show which is slated to air in select cities this summer on Fox.

“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” returns for season eight in July 2013.

“The View” airs weekdays in Flint on WJRT ABC12 at 11 a.m. EST. See this Flint area channel guide for a local channel breakdown.
