Kris Humphries may have thought that his engagement to Kim Kardashian was real, but after only a few weeks of marriage the dream ended for him. And after finalizing the divorce this past spring, he has been able to move on. And the engagement ring may have been the last piece of the puzzle. According to a new Us Weekly report published on Oct. 15, Kris Humphries finally sold the engagement ring he gave Kim Kardashian on an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
There have been many speculations as to the engagement between them. It was filmed and Kim didn’t seem too surprised. Rumor has it that it was all set up for the show and that she paid for the ring she wanted. This past week, the ring was auctioned off in New York for $620,000.
According to the report, “bidding opened on the bauble at $200,000, with an as-yet-unknown online buyer scooping up the Lorraine Schwartz creation, which features a 16.21-carat center diamond and two 1.8-carat side diamonds.” The buyer remains anonymous and will end up paying a total of $749,000 for the ring because of the Christie’s buyer’s premium.
"Kim has been waiting for the day he would auction it," a source has revealed. "Everyone always asked what Kim did with the ring -- she silently gave it back over a year ago! And Kris waited until the divorce was final to sell it." And it sounds like Kris wasn’t the one who lost the money in the end, as the ring was worth about $2 million. "The ring is definitely not worth $2 million, not even half of that," sniffs the source. Humphries didn’t even pay for the ring himself, Kardashian supposedly did.
