Kris Humphries' lawyer Marshall Waller has quit, reportedly claiming there's no proof of fraud in the divorce proceedings between his client and Kim Kardashian. According to the New York Post Waller filed paperwork today (Friday) to drop the Brooklyn Nets star as a client. Kris Humphries' lawyer explains his decision by saying the attorney-client relationship reached “irreconcilable differences” causing an "irremediable breakdown."
The celebrity website TMZ cites a source as saying Waller repeatedly told Humphries he's abusing the legal system by insisting on an annulment. In order to be granted an annulment, Humphries and his legal team would have to prove the marriage was a fraud.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were married for a mere 72 days. Their divorce proceedings have now dragged on for more than three times as long as their marriage.
Kim was hoping a divorce settlement would be reached by the time she and Kanye West welcome their baby in July. But given the latest developments with Humphries' lawyer quitting, it's likely to draw the proceedings out even longer.
