A court decision Friday gives Kim Kardashian a chance to potentially be officially divorced from Kris Humphries by the time she gives birth to her and Kanye West's baby just two months later. In a Feb. 15 decision, a Superior Court Judge set the Kardashian vs Humphries divorce trial date for May 6, USA Today reports. By the time the trial starts, it will have been more than a year and a half since Kardashian filed for divorce.

In his ruling, the judge stated the date would give Kris Humphries enough time to prepare his case. The judge also denied a request to delay the trial until after the NBA season. The trial date ruling came the day after Humphries' attorney filed paperwork to drop the NBA player as a client. According to reports, Humphries' lawyer believes his client was trying to "abuse the legal system" by seeking an annulment on the grounds of fraud.
Kim Kardashian wants a divorce, but her ex husband says he wants their 72 days marriage annulled. The former couple married in August 2011 and by October of that same year, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star filed for divorce. Humphries countered seeking an annulment.
Kim is currently expecting a baby with Kanye West in July. The 32 year old reality star has said she would ideally be divorced by the time her first child is born.
