It's the Twitter insult heard 'round the NBA. A Kris Humphries jab by New York Knicks guard, J.R. Smith, is getting a lot of buzz today (Tuesday) after he took a direct shot at Kim Kardashian's-ex in a very public forum. Not only did Smith insult Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries, he took it to another level by defending Kim's new man, Kanye West.
The Twitter war started Monday, following the Nets win over the Knicks. That's when Humphries, who is legally still married to Kim Kardashian, tweeted: "Big game tonight! The Garden got really quiet on the way out! #Brooklyn." Copying the contents of the tweet, J.R. Smith tweeted back adding: "Wasn't quiet when Kanye tore it down last month!"
Kim Kardashian is, of course, pregnant with Kanye's baby. As Examiner.com previously reported, the expectant reality star admits she'd ideally be divorced from Humphries by the time the baby is born, but she knows that's unlikely. The former couple, who was famously married for just 72 days, is embattled in a heated divorce. Humphries reportedly wants a public apology from Kim and wants her to admit their wedding was staged for television.
The New York Post reports Smith is no stranger to Twitter controversy. He's been fined by the league at least once before for questionable content and has been forced to downplay other heated tweets, as well. As for the current war of words with J.R. Smith, Kris Humphries didn't respond back to the obvious jab.
