Krim family returning to NYC, former nanny Yoselyn Ortega in prison hospital

Many people are still thinking about Kevin and Marina Krim, the parents who lost two of their children when their nanny Yoselyn Ortega allegedly killed them in their Manhattan apartment. The Krim family has mostly stayed out of the public eye since the NYC nanny stabbing, but they are sharing a bit with those following the situation via their Lulu & Leo Fund Facebook page. Jan. 5 the family shared some tidbits as they make their way back to New York to live again.

Saturday Marina Krim shared several pictures from Santa Fe, N.M., where the family stopped during their cross-country drive. The Daily Mail notes that the Krim family has been in California since shortly after the tragedy, but they are now on their way back to New York. Those following the tragic situation know that former nanny Yoselyn Ortega has been charged with the brutal murders of Lucia Krim, 6, and Leo Krim, who was almost 2-years-old. Nessie, 4, was with her mother at the time of the October attacks.

Kevin and Marina Krim have been posting on their Facebook page, started in honor of the Lulu & Leo Fund they created to honor the children. They share, “We are hopeful that 2013 will be a year of healing, growth and peace.” They are making the trip from California to New York in an RV with some friends, and it seems they are looking for moments to embrace along the way. People following this heartbreaking case hope that the Krim family can indeed find peace and are glad they are relishing their days with Nessie.

Their former nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, is said to still be in a prison hospital. She has been under medical care since the attack and her suicide attempt. Ortega has been charged with the murders, but has pled not guilty. Her next legal proceeding is expected to be in mid-January.
