Kraft has announced the recall of more than 1 million cases of Knudsen, Breakstone, Simply Kraft and Daily Chef cottage cheese after it was discovered that ingredients weren't properly stored at its Tulare, CA facility.
“While unlikely, this could create conditions that could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness; therefore, the company is issuing the recall as a precaution,” according to a company spokesperson.
A number of the recalled varieties are packaged in 4 and 16 oz tubs date stamped between May 9, 2014 and July 23, 2014. Note that none of the products were shipped outside the United States, and that only Simply Kraft Cottage Cheese products with a plant code of 06-245 are affected.

Consumers who purchased any of these products should return them to the store where purchased for an exchange or full refund. For more information, consumers can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-396-6307 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST.
