The Kraft cheese recall is creating a buzz online today, with many wondering why certain packages of Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese were recalled on Oct. 25, 2013. See the full list of recalled products below.
The company issued a press release that stated that the string cheese may spoil before the "Best By" date listed on the package for products that have code dates from Oct. 25, 2013 through Feb. 11, 2013.
"As you may know, these are natural cheeses that contain no added preservatives, and it’s not unusual for cheese to spoil over time. But in this situation, we saw spoilage occurring before the “Best When Used By” Date. That is not acceptable to us." - Kraft Foods
Several types of Kraft and Polly-O String Cheese and String Cheese Twists products are being recalled including Kraft Mozzarella String Cheese, Low Moisture Part Skim String Cheese, Polly-O Italian Style Pizza String Cheese, and 19 other varieties.
