Kourtney Kardashian lost 44 pounds just six months after giving birth to her second child with a sensible diet and early-morning workouts.
"The trainer comes over at seven in the morning when my kids are still asleep so I don't have any mom guilt," Kardashian told Us. "Sometimes I think, 'Why should I work out when I can spend time with my kids?' I feel guilty doing something for me, so working out at home is really nice.
The 5-foot-tall Kourtney, who slimmed down from 150 pounds to a svelte 106 lbs, runs or does calisthenics on the days she doesn't work out with her trainer. On other days, the mom of two does Tracy Anderson's 90-minute dance-cardio workouts.
"I go for a jog or do morning yoga," says Kardashian, 33. "Sometimes when I'm playing on the floor with Penelope, I'll do a few sit-ups."
Kourtney gained 40 pounds during her first pregnancy with son Mason in 2009, and lost weight very quickly with strict dieting and excessive workouts. The extreme weight loss (she slimmed down to 95 lbs) isn't something she wanted to repeat this time.
"I was comparing myself to other people and putting all this pressure on myself," says Kardashian of her 2009 post-baby weight loss. "I was working out and not eating enough. I definitely pushed myself too hard. This time, the focus is early on being a mom and being present, knowing my priorities."
Kourtney, who tries to follow an organic diet, says the weight came off more slowly this time, but she made sure not to be too hard on herself.
"I definitely had some moments when the weight was at a standstill," she recounts. "It was frustrating and I'd start to wonder, 'Am I ever going to get my body back?' Then I'd be like, OK, you just had two kids. Take it easy."
