Kosovo: Serbian economy crisis worst in Europe

Serbia's unemployment rate will rise at 21% this year from 18% in 2008, Unicredit Bank Group said. The Group said the jobless rate will rise to 21.5% in 2010.
The same source said Serbia's GDP will contract 2.5% at 29.5 billion euros in 2009. The GDP's decline will ease to 0.7 percent next year.
Serbia's inflation will stand at 7.8% in 2009. Next year, the inflation will drop at 6.5% from last year's 11.7%.

Unicredit forecasts a decline in foreign direct investments (FDIs) at 1.1 billion euros from last year's 1.9 billion euros. Approximately 1.3 billion euros worth of FDIs are expected in 2010.Though the financial crisis that triggered the global recession originated from the developed countries, it was the developing nations that have suffered most. And while billions have been spent in hope for 'green shoots' in the richer economies, more is needed to avert poorer countries' like Serbia slipping into dark misery.

The Serbian government is not distancing itself from the ideology of Slobodan Milosevic.  Instead of dealing with the economic crisis and the problems Serbia faces today they are trying to brainwash the decent Serbian people about their fight against other nations recognition of Kosovo's independence.
The Serbian government is more corrupt today than ever before in history.  78% of the people in Serbia are very unhappy with the leadership of the government.  It is very important for Serbian people to stop feeding the ideology that brings them nothing but destruction and focus on having an excellent relationship with neighbors--especially Kosovo Albanians.  The future of the Serbian and Albanian people is to join the European Union and become part of the civilized Western world.

I seriously wish that Serbia could stop focusing so much on other countries and focus on itself and the people. Otherwise, they are going to always fall behind.

Now, in a sign that Serbia is finally coming to terms with atrocities committed during the Bosnian war, Belgrade's war crimes court has ruled that the four Serbs had murdered the six Bosnians in the small village of Trnovo, 150 kilometers (90 miles) from Srebrenica on July 17, 1995. That same week 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killled in the United Nations-protected Muslim enclave.
The commander of the unit, Slobodan Medic, and a second defendant were both sentenced to 20 years in prison. A third, Pero Petrasevic, who was the only one to admit shooting the victims, was sentenced to 13 years. Another man accused as being an accomplice to the crime was sentenced to five years, while a fifth defendant was cleared.

Srebrenica massacre, in which Serb soldiers killed more than 7,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys. The video captures a uniformed Serbian paramilitary unit executing six civilian men. It is now evidence at the International Criminal Tribunal. GOD you Serbians will go to hell

Sahit this is a great article! the slobdan milosevic idiology and his ways of thinking still occupie the serbian minds and the serbian government. Instead of conpensating the albanian, bosnian and croatian people for the atrocities they commited. They still try to hurt kosova by trying to spread propoganda and negative news about kosova. They should be focused on their failing economy and their corruptive government and not try to hurt a country that deserves it freedom and its right to exist in peace and prosperity. God bless kosova

Serbian government is not trying to brainwash it's people because most of them are brainwashed for ages already. Yes Serbia should mind it's owen business after killing thousands of people including children and elderly in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. Nobady in the Balkans likes the butchers of Balkan the Serbs.

Corruption in Serbia is the misuse of public office for private gain. It can involve simple fraud and self-dealing, but my focus will be on bribery and other corrupt transactions involving both private parties and public officials. When bribe money changes hands, both the briber and the recipient are better off, but the transaction violates government policy. Sometimes public officials claim that bribes are simply "gifts of good will." Private individuals and firms may, nevertheless, believe that such gifts are a requirement of good service from bureaucrats, politicians, and judges. The systemic effect of permitting such payoffs is damaging.

BELGRADE, Serbia -- The International Monetary Fund said Tuesday it was postponing a deal with the Serbia country on withdrawing additional funds from an emergency standby loan - despite encouraging signs that Serbia's recession-hit economy was recovering.

Albert Jaeger, the head of an IMF mission that has reviewed Serbia's performance under an economic program supported by a euro2.8 billion ($4 billion) standby loan, said the talks would continue in October.

I agree that serbian soldiers are responsible for killings of thousands of Bosnians, Crooats and Albanians and I am in the victims side. Lets not generalize the problem by saying "GOD you Serbians will go to hell " because i think that there are some inocent serbians who never liked those wars and probably dont like the Serbian politics toword those victims today. I say all those who were involved with crimes in any way will go to hell.
