Korean Air to open non-stop flights from Houston to Seoul

Beginning in May 2014, Korean Air will offer nonstop flights from Houston to Seoul, South Korea. Four days a week, travelers - business and otherwise- will be able to shave four or five hours off of flight time by traveling direct to Seoul's Incheon International Airport.

The announcement marks a significant move for Houston as it promotes the city as an international gateway. As industries expand into the Houston market, airlines have taken notice of the enhanced need to offer more convenient travel options to and from the gulf coast city.

Korean Air made the decision based on its wanting to own a share of the Houston to Asia travel market. Not only will this move enhance Korean Air's visibility in the U.S., but it will also allow Houston businesses to more conveniently connect with Asia.

Korean Air previously opened a non-stop route between Dallas and Seoul. Nonstop flights from Houston will be offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday beginning in May.
