Koran teacher molests child: No jail time due to wife can't speak English

A Koranic and Arabic-language instructor in the North of England was found guilty almost two months ago of sexually molesting an 11-year-old girl, yet the presiding judge has just ruled that the convicted child molester will spend none of the 10 month sentence behind bars because among other things, the pedophile's wife speaks "very little" English and doesn't have a job, as reported by The Express (of London, UK) on March 18, 2014, and by the Lancashire Telegraph on Jan. 22, 2014.

Found guilty two months ago on five counts of "committing sexual activity with a child" Imam Suleman Maknojioa of Blackburn, Lancashire, UK found himself facing almost a year in one of Her Majesty's Prisons.

Yet Judge Michael Byrne of Preston Crown Court found fit to suspend the jail time in favor of two years of supervised probation and 10 years the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

Unnamed in the press due to her age, the victim testified that Maknojioa was hired by her parents to provide private lessons to her and her two brothers on Islam, the Koran, and the Arabic language.

It was during those lessons where Maknojioa "began touching the girl's arms and head, then moved to the legs, feet and chest and her thigh.

The girl claimed that touching had typically occurred as she prayed; kneeling or cross legged while reading from the Koran."

The 11-year-old child went on to tell the court:

I did not want it, but I was too afraid to say something.

He would put his hand under my head scarf on my chest and he would squeeze. He would only use the one hand.

The other hand would be writing something or he would be pointing to my brothers and telling them to pray harder.

What it takes not to go to jail in the UK ...

Noting that Maknojioa's wife spoke very little English and had no job outside of the home, Judge Byrne also justified his decision due to Maknojioa, his wife and all six children are on welfare.

Byrne also cited that the convicted fondler needed to be home with his family due to his upcoming kidney operation. In prison or home, the British taxpayer would foot the bill for Maknojioa's surgical procedure.

Prior to the judge rendering sentence, defense attorney Frida Hussain presented in her verbal argument for leniency:

This is a man who doesn't pose any risk of harm to his children.

[The] family unit depends on him ... they are dependent on him to lead their lives and with the running of the household.
