On Friday, Feb. 8, Japanese publisher and developer Konami’s Los Angeles office announced special launch events for the upcoming release of "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance." The game has been highly anticipated since its announcement in 2009. It marks the first time a chapter of Hideo Kojima’s long running Metal Gear series will debut on Microsoft Xbox system. "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" will also be simultaneously released on Sony’s Playstation 3 system.
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced three different events in the Americas, surrounding the launch of "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance." Fans of the "Metal Gear" series have been invited to three over four days surrounding the launch of the game. Producers, Mr. Yuji Korekado from Kojima Productions and Mr. Atsushi Inaba from Platinum Games will be available for autographs at each of the three events.
In the United States, producers Korekado-san and Inaba-san will be available to sign autographs at the Universal Studios City Walk GameStop on Feb. 18 from 8 to 10pm PST. The first 150 fans will also be invited to an accompanying launch party at Hard Rock Café that evening, featuring a live performance by "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" music composer, Jamie Christopherson and orchestra.
In Mexico, fans will have the chance to demo the game at Museum Britanico Americano where producers Korekado-san and Inaba-san will be available for autographs on Feb. 20 from 6pm to 12am. Argentineans can meet Korekado-san and take "Metal Gear"-themed photos at Sony Style Cabildo in Buenos Aires on Feb. 22 from 8pm to 12am. "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance" will be available on Feb. 19 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems at major retail stores nationwide.
