Earlier this year, Konami’s Hideo Kojima made big announcements with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection & Zone of the Enders HD Collection coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year and in 2012 respectively. Though those announcements were major announcements from Kojima during Konami’s Pre-E3 media event, another big reveal was also given that day when Kojima shared the first details on his new ‘Fox Engine’.

Today on Twitter Kojima shared:

Facial test via "FOX engine." Shader etc. are still pro pro forma.

Fox Engine is a new multiplatform development tool that Kojima Productions is crafting in-house. Development of the engine began after the team finished their development on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and is designed to allow the team to create multiplatform with far more ease. Kojima has now shared several more renders today of what the engine is capable of in terms of facial rendering.
